I do like the crop too. Thought it had the look of Gehry but didn't know what or where. Close but no cigar.

Have A Wonderful Memorial Day


We made a visit to Arlington back in early April 2010. It's a place that gives one a lot to think about, and this particular shot was filled with symbolism.

The memorial inscription glowing in the sun.
The battle laurels lying in relative shadow.
The crack through the memorial from the weight of souls resting there.
The dark tangle of trees reflecting the conflicts where men fought and died.
The young and old soldiers serving together and, having remembered those that went before, getting on with their duties.
