The plan was for jennifer and I to take our cameras and have a photo walk at the local wildlife refuge, except I just couldn't keep the camera off her...I'm almost certain that there was lots of birds there, I was only interested in one.
I don't normally get excited by unpeopled photographs, but this image genuinely works. Not only is the visual geometry excellent; it shows us an avian moment generally too fleeting for us to more than glimpse. Well done!
