What are your thoughts about HDR?

I then bought Nik HDR Efex Pro and I am much more impressed with that. There are lots of presets that actually look like photographs, and also you can find and download other presets that photographers have put together. I use Canon cameras and so am a bit restricted by the three shot limit of the auto exposure bracketing, but I recently bought the Promote Remote control which is a great tool for overcoming that limit and also giving you a very fancy timer and remote control as well. I did a review of this Promote remote with some examples of the resultant HDR images on my blog a week or so ago.

I'm definitely impressed with both the Promote and Nik HDR Efex - the images below are the normal and HDR version of an old gate.

So the second image was done with Nik software?

You could get the same results putting fill light and upping sat in ACR.
