Trust and Love

A few times there has been threads about if you would trust a friend or spouse with your camera.

Last week, I had my camera with my 18-135mm lens on my desk. I picked it up to move it, so I can have space to check out my early xmas presents from hubby. As I picked up the camera, the strap got caught on the corner of the desk, and pulled the camera out of my hand and onto the floor. The camera is fine, but the lens broke. Two of the nobs on the back that attach to the camera snap off.

Now this sucks because I was saving my $ to buy a new head, so now I need a new lens. Plan to go to B&H in NY on Sunday, but found out B&H is closed for 2weeks.

So hubby and I visit Longwood Gardens over the weekend. I only took my 105mm macro lens into the gardens. As it turned out, I missed the ability to shoot wide. So hubby let me (many times) use his 18-135 (which he was mainly using). The couple of times I used his 18-135, he used my 105macro for a couple of shots.

What I am saying is, if you trust the other person, then there should be no problem letting your spouse use your photography equipment. (now of course this doesn't count, for those spouses who are accident prone) :)

I completely agree. I trust my husband with any of my camera equipment as I know he knows the value it is to me. There is a great deal of trust involved in healthy relationships and allowing Joe to use my camera falls into that. I also know his skill level with photography.
