How is this possible?

I just saw some infrared portraits. I thought all infrared appear almost like if they are B&W images. So how does one get an infrared with color in it?

Here is an example of what I am talking about..
Color Infrared

Is this done in the camera? or in post processing?

The first link is about film. So how does one shoot color infrared using a digital camera?

Different filters, either on lens or in front of sensor. See this......

Digital IR comes out of the camera monochrome, but with reddish color cast. Exactly how red depends on the white balance selected. It is common to swap the red channel for blue in digital IR processing. This makes it monochrome with a blue color cast. The color in the eyes is either painted in or they are masked in from a regular photograph.

Well I see you already got your answer. Good luck. I have never tried IR, but after seeing the image you posted, that is pretty awesome. I think I'm going to give it a try.

Does anyone know, if I can turn a color photo into IR in Photoshop?

There are plenty of tutorials that suggest how to achieve various effects that may look similar to IR, but I've never seen one that I think duplicates the real deal very well.

The amount of color you get from a digital IR image depends on the wavelength of the filter or IR conversion. I've had a Sony A200 permanently converted to the 720nm wavelength which when you custom white balance on green grass results in images with the beige and blue tints in the portrait. You get the red channel blown out when you shoot with the WB set to daylight.

You then have the choice of converting to mono or swapping the blue and red channels. With landscapes this gives you blue skies. Alternatively if you shoot in RAW you can play with the temp and tint sliders in ACR to create as many color variations as you like.
