Have you regreted buying any gear?

Softbox.  Umbrellas are so much easier to live with.

You know what Kelly, I'm completely the opposite.  I would say umbrellas are my 'regrets'.  Although I think 'regret' is a strong word to use here.  I simply don't use them.  I do however enjoy my softboxes.

Pretty easy, Polaroid back for my RB 67. Great idea but hard to find the film quite often and expensive and if I remember I couldn't get it in the same ISO I was using with film. These days when I shoot it, I take along a digital and use it to test exposure. But it's a great idea and I got one! One other thing was a studio light set up. Worked great by I so seldom had a use for them they weren't worth spending the money on. Had an idea years ago I'd start doing portrait's, that fizzled! I have a brother in Michigan that is a pro, been one all his life. But he'd always managed studio's for other's. Economy went to hell and he struck out on his own but couldn't come up with a set of light's so I sent them to him. Come to think of it, that wasn't such a bad buy, got to help out my brother!

Most of my tripods and camera bags were regrettable. There is NO decent photo store within one hundred miles so I buy online, and have made a few errors.......

Why so serious?

Almost everything I bought trying to save money, in particular cheap filters.

Anything purchased in haste, without careful thought as to utility, cost vs. return, and quality. I don't really care to go into details :S

Ouch!  That really sucks.  Even here in Phoenix we are down to just 3 decent photo stores.

Is that store down on McDowell near I-17 still open? I thought I saw that it was closed.
For me it has been mostly lenspens, and other cleaning wonders. That is mostly because I either lose them, or break them. And any liquid solution sitting in my bag somehow mysteriously opens, and empties out.

Nope.  I think the McDowell near I-17 outfit had a re-incarnation in downtown Scottsdale -

For studio gear their stuff is almost entirely Promaster.  Which is Ok gear, just not super competitive on price.  On the positive side they do stock Fujifilm cameras.  Those are kind of hard to find now.

Good question, had me thinking.    Just a Hoya filter I bought as a quick cheap replacement while I was traveling.

Now I remember their name when you posted the link, they were Photomark, at that location. Yeah they were never really price competitive, but then they were pretty much fully stocked. For me they were a quick dive off the freeway, when I had to go to the valley for company meetings.
