$8000 and 15 days, where would you go?
Well unless you planned on going to west Africa for a workshop, then the rest of the continent is good to go. But like Ernesto I would scrap the shop, and just tour. I personally would not choose any of your trips. For me I would gas up my truck, and get lost in the northern Arizona back country. I think it would cost me all of $200, maybe $400 if I slept in any hotels. But it would be mostly outdoor accommodations.
Also on a side note. You can get killed, maimed, or be in danger anywhere you go in life, including going to work everyday. So why worry about what is going on is a small part of a large world. We all die, it is the natural progression of being born, so do not worry about it. I just go full ahead, and do not look back. It is more fun that way.
