Buying a camera from Amazon?

7 years 1 month ago #521480 by Homer
Normally I'm buying my camera gear from either B&H or Adorama.  However I have recently found a good deal on a camera that I want.  I'll be saving a few bucks, buying it from Amazon.

Anything I need to know or be warned about with buying camera gear from Amazon?

Depends on the seller. If overseas it will be gray market. If you don't mind that, then have at it.

New? Used? Also, ask the seller if its a US warranted camera. I've bought a couple off Amazon, no problems.

Why so serious?

Make sure the seller is in U.S.

No different than buying from other locations, it's all about the sellers credibility.

Actually, Adorama is an Amazon affiliate. Order from the latter and a good chance Adorama ships the item.

Many Amazon storefronts have a presence on eBay as well. As noted, do due diligence as to the condition and the importer of the camera.

Just be sure to check into the seller. Chances are, you shouldn't have any issues buying off of Amazon.

I don't know...I'd rather be guaranteed of quality and warrantee than gamble with potential grey market on Amazon. But that's just me.

There is no gamble to it. Both are available. You just see what warranty it comes with and you know if it's gray market or not. International warranty = gray market.

I'll buy from Amazon long before I buy from ebay.  Actually I buy from B&H and Amazon the most.

Oh and Adorama.

NO, you need to make sure it's covered under Prime.  That will insure it's within mainland U.S..

Being a Prime product doesn't make any difference here.
