Been gone too long.

I'm not sure how many people hear would still remember me, but I'm finally back after dealing with a lot of personal issues the last couple of years.  I've lost four different family members including my dad, most recently, in that stretch of time, and just didn't have the passion to get out and shoot.

Finally in the last couple of months I've started feeling more inspired again - noticing places I'd like to grab my camera and head back to around sunset, scouting out new on-location portrait spots, etc.  I've got my first wedding shoot in a few years booked for November.  So I think I'm officially back at it!

I also just switched back to Canon (was originally a Canon guy, then tried Nikon for a couple years).  So I've got some fresh gear to keep the excitement up.  Looking forward to being more active on the forum again, starting now.

Welcome back, looking forward to seeing your work! :)

Sorry to hear about your big personal losses. True; those are times when one mostly doesn't feel like going out with a camera just for the sake of it!
I wish you all the strength needed!

Festina lente!

Yeah, I shot a few photos on the Fourth of July.  Unfortunately the fireworks show was too packed to get closer, so I had to settle for a view obscured by an overpass. But it's a very well known roadway in our area so at least it was a way of including the context of the town along with the fireworks.
