How to polar align Sky Watcher Star Adventurer?

5 years 4 months ago #626383 by Rick Larin
I just bought one of these things and it came with no manual.  I jumped on YouTube and not finding a who lot on how to set these things up.   Particularly to polar align this.  Actually I did find one video, but it was from 100 years ago and seemed very dated.

Particularly if you can't see the North Star, then what?  Can you even align this thing?

Thanks for the help!

Rick

So I just watched one of these,  so if you use this you can take longer exposures of the skies with out getting star trails.  That is pretty cool.  So what do you do if there are partly clouds out and you can't see the north star? Actually I think that is what the original question was asking.

This guy is pretty good, but he is selling a course for $100 to use this.  Have you taken this course?

Didn't know there were courses out there on how to use these things.  Something you would expect Star Adventurer peeps to have available.  I bought one, nearly 2 years ago, and haven't used because I could never get the thing aligned.
