Olympus full frame next?

Correct me if I'm wrong, Panasonic and Olympus have always been fighting for market position right?  So now that Panasonic went full frame, could this be a force that pushes Olympus into the full frame market?

I'm not saying they will ditch their 4/3rds, but just add full frame to mix?

I don't think so. The full frame market is saturated. Olympus has a corner of the market with less competition and they feel they can deliver results with m 4/3rds. It lets them do things that you can't with full frame because of sensor chip size and computational power. IBIS is one example. They have the best of anyone when it comes to IBIS. Fuji has carved out their own sector as well.

Yeah, but we could be one camera away from seeing a big leap forward in IBIS with some of these others.  Honestly I wouldn't be surprised to see Canon stepping up their game big time with the EOS R Pro that is rumored to be on the near horizon for them.

The size and weight of a full frame sensor make IBIS a lot tougher to implement.

Doubtful, look at the new cameras they have recently released, they are doing just well sticking around in the 4/3rds market.   I don't think they need to move.  Plenty of market for them there.

Dunno. Since back in their PEN days Oly has been beating the "more compact" drum. They might try L-mount just to keep up with Panasonic. Or they could even revive APS-H. Very interesting times.
