My wife died a couple of weeks ago after 48 years together and i have a photo that was taken on our wedding day.It is very dark and has some slight age marks.I am asking if anyone has any ideas of where to take it and what the cost may be.If possible i would like to eventually get it enlarged. It does mean a great deal to me so any help would be greatly appreciated, thankyou,Maurice.

G'day mate

Not knowing your country / city it is an impossible answer

However, look in your local phone directory for 'photo retouching' and see where it takes you, also, try your local camera club - they often have pretty smart people willling to give something like this a bit of a try

Not much can be done with that photo. It's quite small and very grainy. When I try to lighten it for you
it looks worse than the original. If you could re-scan the photo at 260-300 dpi, maybe I could do more with it. Also, please do your best to square the photo with the scanner.

Here's what I'd do:

1. Pick up Topaz Labs Gigapixel AI:  topazlabs.com/gigapixel-ai/

Run your photo through this software.

Then print it out on canvas.  Canvas will be more forgiving on stretching out that print.

Nikon D300: 24-70 2.8 | 70-200 2.8 VR |Sigma 150 2.8 | 50 1.4 | SB-800

I went back and worked a bit more on this photo, but I didn't manage to improve it much. It's just too small and of too low a pixel density to do much with it. There just isn't enough there to work with.

:agree: you might be able to squeeze out a 9x5, but anything larger will be iffy.

Sorry for your loss.
