Image transfer question

13 years 6 months ago #4607 by PaperBoy
I've always transferred images from the camera to the computer via USB cable. I was told that you can loose quality in the transfer that it's best to use a card reader. ??? This doesn't sound right, but at the same time you never know. So I'm asking to see what everyone here had to say?

Does it make a difference?

It's not going to affect the IQ at all. That said, it will use battery power from the camera. Personally, I use a card reader...

It won't effect your image quality at all, but you'll find a USB card reader is WAY faster. at only around 20 bucks, a card reader is a very good investment. Also, you won't have to use up your camera's battery power during the transfer.

I have both and most of time just plug directly from the camera, just because it's easier

Most of the time I pull the photos directly off the camera via cable.
