Book of the Day: Speedliter's Handbook: Learning to Craft Light with Canon Speedlites

9 years 8 months ago #401698 by PT Talker
I hear you, Nikon fans. I promise to give all brands equal time as opportunity allows. Today's book, however, has the "C" word written all over it (literally).

Now, about the book: If you're interested in learning how to use flash for photography, there's a lot in here for you in terms of theory, practice and example. If you're interested in getting the most out of Canon Speedlites, this should be your shooting bible.

Syl Arena takes you through everything you need to know about light, lighting and exposure as well as how to use Canon Speedlites in just about any situation. There's a section on using third-party flashes and getting your Canon lights to play well with others, too, as well as appendices full of valuable information and resources. Did I mention that it's full of amazing full-color photos? I think you'll be hard pressed to find something that's been left out of this one.

With 391 customer reviews to date, it still has a solid 5-star rating on Amazon. It's available in paperback or in a Kindle edition. Go take a look, read some reviews and buy it here:

Here's a list of the equipment the book covers:

Canon Speedlite 580EX II

Canon Speedlite 430EX II
Canon Speedlite 270EX II
Canon MR-14EX II Macro Ring Lite
Canon MT-24EX Macro Twin Lite Flash
Canon ST-E2 Speedlite Transmitter
