How Sony can improve the A7(r/s) manual focus.

I personally have my AF/MF button set to engage "Focus Magnifier" and I also have my picture style set to black and white (makes manual focus easier) and the peaking set to red/mid.

This works really well, BUT there's an obvious (and perhaps easy) way Sony can improve their Focus Magnifier mode and therefore make manual focus shooters more happy.

As you can see here:

So, how about it Sony?   Why can't I see the whole image in that back little box?  It would mean I could focus with the magnifier and frame at the same time.  Instead, now I have to focus, press the button again (maybe two times) to come out of focus magnifying mode, frame and then shoot (hopefully the person/subject hasn't moved out of focus by this point).

This small change would make a lot of difference to manual focus shooters.

BTW I shoot RAW so having it set to black and white means I still maintain full colour in the final images. I wouldn't do this if I were a jpeg shooter.

I've been looking at one of these A7 cameras but wondering what Sony is doing about the limited lenses.   How would you rate this camera to other mirrorless?

If you're happy with a crop camera, go for the Fuji X-T1, its a better camera in many ways, especially the viewfinder.

The Sony  has some small issues like what I said above that they could improve with a firmware update.  I really wish they'd improve manual focus because I only use manual focus lenses.
