Why does't Sony offer a flip screen?

Why doesn't Sony release cameras with a screen that has reversed flip screen?  Is there a patent or something that is preventing them from going this route?  Through my searches there seems to be a ton of negative remarks speaking about why this would be a good idea, yet they haven't released.

What gives?

cost?

it doesn’t seem to be hurting their sales from what I can tell, however, I do wish my LCD moved in other ways. It can be pulled out and tilted  up or down, which, IMO, is more vital than flipping out to the sides.

They also dont have a true touch screen and the menu is a bit of a nightmare (it’s recommended to use the “favorites” and quick menu features to make it tolerable.)

These are certainly areas Sony has been struggling with, but I suppose it either takes too much time and money atm and doesn’t impact sale
enough. They make up for it with the dual card slots, which most pro cameras don’t even have, along with one of the best AF systems in the mirrorless market.

One cannot help but wonder where you got the impression that "most" pro cameras don't have dual card slots? I dare say you're misinformed.

I could be wrong.
