Wow, Julian. Pro level quality -- focus, exposure and clean post, is all there.

Sale-able prints. Have you contacted anyone who could use them?

Matthew :)

Wow really? I wouldn't know who to contact in all honesty, the way I see it is the only person who would be interested in that kind of thing are the players in the images. Most of the players in the set I know and have access to my images as I put the rugby shots on Facebook.

A photo like that is too good to throw away on Facebook where anybody can download your photos. Does the team have a photographer? Are there any newspapers, magazines, websites who cover rugby? There's a website I'm familiar with that's based in the US but does have some photographers who post on the forums who are in other countries - www.sportsshooter.com . It might be helpful in some way, it's done by pro sports photographers.

We call that portfolio building mode, and it's the RIGHT way to go pro.

Become a photographer.. first!

One day someone is going to see what you've done and how good you are, and you will get paid for your work. Then the snowball will roll.

Im shocked at the reaction of these photos to be honest, and in a good way, I have been looking online this last couple of days as to possible sources.

Thanks very much

That's how I started, I hadn't done anything remotely freelance, just had always thought I'd do 'something' w/my photography. I was showing my photos to my ticket rep up in the office of our minor league hockey team and the Sr. VP (who later became the team Pres.) got to looking at them; next thing I know he's wanting me to take photos of the dasher ads etc. for their marketing (because their team photographer didn't want to do it! LOL) Got a press pass and free access and expenses covered and it was an incredible learning opportunity. It was work but I had a blast - loved every minute of it.

Matthew's right, at least that's been my experience. Sounds like you already have a great opportunity as their team photographer and you can go from there. Do people come up and ask you about photos of their favorite players? - I used to get that question often enough, and I was able to make a little extra selling some player photos.

Since the team folded that opportunity ended and sometimes things go in a different direction than you plan, but I just had a couple of photos accepted into a juried exhibition at a local art center/gallery. Seems like one thing leads you to another. Good luck with it.
