Night Flash Action at the Beach

First attempt at this type of shot... BULB mode with handheld flash firing multiple times to catch the action as it happens... Still got some work to do but I like the way they came out... That is my son providing the action....

Feel free to comment...

Wanted to catch two images in the air so had him jump two times to capture this shot. Jump, run back up and jump again...

Yes, I did trade up, but I did have to resort to the old standby ice chest tripod the other day, cause the trade up was in the car, and didn't have time to go get it... I knew I kept it for a reason...

Great work Joie. I actually play with the strobe light I used to use for night diving. It can be placed underwater for some fantastic movement type shots.

Nice work. How did you create the multiple poses in one image?

Long exposure in BULB mode... being it is dark out, without the flash, you can freely move (to a degree) and not be seen... then just Multiple Flash Firings to light up the subject at different points... In the fourth photo, he actually jumped twice, jumped once, then ran back up and jumped again so I was able to catch TWO exposures in the air...
