Hi all does anyone know how to place one image on top of the other in photoshop. Im a real novice

Would need a bit more information before one could say exactly how to do what you are trying to accomplish. I think what you are trying to do is paste an image into an already open image in PS (what version do you have?)/
Basically with both images in PS, go to the last one and select all (CTRL +A on Windows) then Cut (CTRL + X) then on the first image paste (CTRL + V).
You will end up with something like this, background images is black and white sand. Top image is abstract lights used for contrast.
Then go from there. I would try YouTube for some beginner basics & work into more advanced stuff from there.
