I don't use a watch any more, battery died five years ago.

Why so serious?

Me neither. Time is on my phone. It even has alarms to remind me of things.
The wife has a watch thing that tells her to “Move” on her arm.
Imagine, in the middle of a movie.
No thanks.
Since my two years compulsory military service I am personally not good with uniforms and commands.

My wife got me a iWatch, it's handy beyond time, but still tough to remember to wear it every day.

You're in South Africa right?  Do you get snow down there?

How can I put it. I will have to draw you a map and give you percentages.
Only on a few high mountains, not every winter.
Never lots of snow in any towns.
The nearest regular snow is about two hours drive from me.
Big traffic jams if it happens over a weekend or school holiday.
Seeing and touching snow is a novelty.

In those areas, does the snow get deep and will it stick for a winter?

No, it will last mostly a week.
the highest mountain in the country, the Drakensberg, about 1000 miles away, has a ski slope. I know of winters without snow, I know of winters with long periods of snow there.
