Fun, how long you been doing that?  So are you considered a freelancer or do you work for a company?

Most scouts work for themselves.
I do have an agent that deals with my bookings, invoices and payments.
On the go you can easily get bookings mixed up.
I’ve been at it for 19 years.

I assumed she meant she is not a professional photographer, she does it as a hobby.

Industrial photographer on a uranium mine?  OK, that is super interesting, was that dangerous?

I don't understand mines and don't know what "Open cast mine" is from others.  I have to say, seriously that is one of the most interesting photography jobs I've heard anyone having!   What would you have to photograph?

The mine had a weekly newspaper. Between 16 and 36 A4 pages.
There was inter-divisional sport, inter-mine sport, interviews, awards...
The yearly glossy, brochures for the mine school and other mine invested schools, like a seamanship school, a post school training centre, two research farms...
Once a year I did aerial photographs of the tailings dam to upgrade their plans.
Etc, etc.

An open cast mine is totally visible from the sky.
It is one huge hole in the ground.
The rest is underground tunnels.

Agree, you get the "most interesting photo job" of the year award.  Did you ever go down in the ground?
