Uploading images

Hi folks. I wonder if any one of you have the same issue as I have. Sometimes I cannot upload an image to a website. For example, I cannot upload an avatar for this site. I get the msg "Uploaded file type is not supported". I get that msg or similar on other sites as well. I get the same issue on my photo club's website, but I can upload to my smugmug account fine.

I normally use Capture NX2, but sometimes use Photoshop to finish my photo into a jpg. There must be something I'm not doing properly in my saving process or something in the security of my IE that is preventing this. Or maybe not. I'm hoping someone might have had a similar issue and can help me out.

Any suggestions?

Are you sure you've selected the proper file to upload ( make sure you didn't select the NEF file)? It's easy to select the wrong format copy when uploading. As for the Avatars, many times they have size limitations as well as format limitations

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I'm sure I'm picking a jpg file. My NEF's are filed in other directories.
