Timely as well as spot on. Seeing all the bugs unleashed in the current contest has me thinking this might be an interesting branch of photography to learn about. Thank you...

What a wonderful video on someone who truly gets it and what it takes to photograph nature properly. Meaning knowing your subjects well in EVERY regard and the proof is in the gorgeous imagery! He seems like a great guy and has flawless macro to boot and thanks for passing this along. I shared on my www.facebook.com/atortphotography page too so hope you don't mind. :)

Really great photos--but, mounting the lens in reverse should disable its aperture mechanism--were he to stop down to get the depth of field he obviously does I would think the image would become too dark to focus--probably the flash has something to do with it--maybe he focuses with it wide open and then stops down and uses the flash for the exposure--I have all the pieces and plan to give it a try. I don't know if the aperture "Works" on a modern lens unless it is mounted correctly--I know it doesn't work unless the camera is on-- but I have some old wide angle lenses that should work fine.---if you need one they would be cheap on eBay.

Really fantastic shots. I've not really got into Macro as the cost has put me off but it seems like basic equipment here!

This has definately inspired me to try.

The photography is beautiful. But I felt as though this was a course in entomology more than in photography.
