I just told my wife the other day that I was thinking of visiting Puerto Rico sometime. I'm sure after showing her this beautiful thread she'll agree. :)

Thanks just make sure you book a good hotel I am serious do your research.
Some hotels on the island are nothing but money takers. For me I grew up on the west side of the island now I have family all over the place and going from the west side into san juan is like going to miami sort of crazy traffic and people. I really do not know why PR tourism doesn't advertise
the following areas Rincon,Cabo Rojo, Aguadilla,Isabella,Aguada, if staying on the west side you can fly into aguadilla airport which will most likely be a 2am arrival flight from EWR newark, Rincon of the seas is the only hotel I would stay in but that's because I am spoiled LOL you can chose to stay at a higher end resort like the Hormed Dorset which charges an astronomical price if you can afford it and they treat you exceptionally well but again it's luxury

If going into san juan the Embassy Suites is good I just have some beef with them over hidden fees. and you pay for daily parking, the old san juan hotel is very nice as well.
Be sure to look into going out to the island of Vieques the water is sooo clear less people.

Oh forgot to mention if in san juan take a day trip early to go south towards ponce I promise you
that the ride will be something to talk about you have to drive a little bit and then you begin to go through
the mountains so high you can see for miles it is awesome wish I had the video to show you I have so many
hard drives full of material but I will check and see if I can find the gopro vids.

Wow, thanks for all the info! (Been gone for a week, so I didn't see it until now.) We're talking about a few different destinations, but if we decide on PR your advice is going to be very helpful!
