taking pic's at the beach -safely

I want to take some senior pic's at the beach. Hoe does anyone safeguard their camera against any possible sand? I was thinking of creating my own plastic baggy casing! I don't have spare fabulous camera's hanging around! Thanks!

Being careful (especially in lens changes) may be the best bet. I have shot lots on the beach with a cheap dslr (canon 300D) without much trouble. Watch your footing and beware the wind!

I do portraits on the beach, never been a problem, I change lens inside the camera bag. When I get home I use a soft brush and remove sand from outside of camera.

You will not be judged as a photographer by the pictures you take, but by the pictures you show.

Sand and spray are only a problem if there is wind. Wear a strap and be careful.
