Very cool shots

You will not be judged as a photographer by the pictures you take, but by the pictures you show.

1) I enjoy the space and the clouds, and the light is effective.
2) Love the grass, clouds, sky, colors. Not sure about that particular bush, but the composition is great and it's a lovely image.
3) Probably my favorite here. Did you use a UV/haze/CPL on any of these? In this case (middday shot) a CPL might have helped eliminate the haze in the distance and also pop the color of the sky. Did you try tweaking the clarity at all?
4) What's not to love?
5) Nice sunset. Perhaps bump the contrast/clarity on this one to detail the grass a bit more?

Overall,

Thanks for the feedback.

On #2...yeah, that bush isn't the greatest I've ever seen either! I probably should have looked around for something better, but it was hot and that was right next to the road, so I took the easy way out...lol

On #3, I did actually use a CPL on this and all the midday shots. But this shot was taken in the worst conditions out of them all -- it was about 108 degrees with the sun directly overhead when I took this one, and the sky out in the distance was just that hazy and "blah". That's why I made it a minimal part of the composition.

On #5, the wind was blowing the grass like crazy and I decided to capture it with a little blur to convey that instead of bumping up the ISO to get a faster shutter speed. Now that you mention it, that might have been a mistake... I think I have an underexposed shot of this at a faster shutter speed (I shot it with bracketing), so maybe I'll see if I can pull some detail out of that one without too much noise.

Thanks again, I think the feedback will help me make a couple more edits and try to improve them.

Beautiful works especially like 3- can you imagine arriving on the edge of the badlands in a conestoga wagon on the way west ?

It's crazy to think about...I can absolutely understand why this terrain earned the name of "bad land" as early settlers crossed it on their way west.

The lookout points have signs that give some interesting history. The men from the caravans had to climb to the tops of some of the plateaus that you see in the distance and pick grass by hand to feed their livestock because nothing grows at the bottom where the animals and wagons were trying to make their way through.

Thanks, I agree on the road being cut off. That's the only thing I didn't like when I saw the finished product of this. If it wasn't about 1,400 miles away I'd go re-shoot it!

The first and the second I really like. Love the clarity and crispness of the first especially.
