Repairing backdrop with holes in it?

I have a couple back drops that over the years have gotten a few holes in them from clients with high heels. I'm thinking these have another 6 months left to them if I can patch them up. I was wondering how are you patching backdrops holes?

I've dome some repairs to one that I bought used.... I can't say it was the best repair, but it may give you some ideas. I laid it flat, and flattened out the tears with and iron and some starch so that they met up pretty good. Then I cut patches larger than the holes. From the back side I hot glued the cuts to the patches so they met up and laid flat. I then re ironed it so it was extra smooth. They've held up great, and look great but it left somewhat shiny areas when photographing (but for mine It was easy to get them out of the shot.

So if you maybe steamed it flat and used something besides hot glue..... it would probably work out.... You get the general idea either way.

Had to look it up. It's called "Mighty Mend It." Wonder if it's any good?

No offense folks but a patched up backdrop isnt the best advert for you as a photographer, will it tell the client you care about them and want to give them the best photos possible, will they understand that in photoshop you can alter it so that the mend dont show, I doubt that, if you want to look professional and give your clients confidence in you and recommend you, go buy a new one.
