Noise in photos

I don't know what I am doing wrong. All my pictures have noise. I'm using a nikon coolpix s6000. Is it the camera? Do I need a new one?

What ISO setting are you using ? does your lens need cleaning ? dust seems to migrate to lenses. Try a microfibre cloth and lens cleaning solution after you check your ISO setting and post up a couple of examples so we can see the problem to help you figure it out. I am a Nkon shooter but have no experience with your model but will try to help as much as I can

Dust on the lens doesn't create noise, your sensor does at high ISO. It amplifies the amount of light, and the quality degrades, and you get noise.

You're getting noise in your pictures because i'm guessing you're trying to shoot in an enviroment with bad lighting or little lighting. To fix it, use the flash on your camera, or upgrade to a camera that has better high ISO's. The latter tends to have a higher premium on price for better technology.

No but dust on the lens can degrade the image. hard to tell without looking at the ISO setting and high ISO noise reduction in the camera software, but you are right about the sensor could be the problem

Agreed that dust can show up in a picture, but not as noise. You can't clone out noise, you can clone out dust. OP was talking about noise.

It never hurts to clean your lens though ;)
