Could someone please give me a few bracketing exposure tips? I get confused with this process.

Bracketing refers to taking multiple exposures/photos at different settings of the same scene or subject. Usually one is underexposed(according to your light meter) one on the correct exposure and one overexposed. With digital you can vary the exposures by one or two stops/shutter speeds whereas with slide film the variance is much tighter ( more like 1/3 stop increments) in order to achieve the most pleasing results.

Agreed. It's usually used to HDR an image.

Which I would never do :X

Note, he doesn't mean you CAN'T vary the exposure on digital by 1/3 stop (you can no problem on most cameras apart from some low end models), just it's better to do it by 1-2 stops when creating HDR.

First take a reading with your meter. Take a picture. Then open the aperture one stop and take a shot. Then take another one with the aperature closed down one stop. This will give you 3 exposures, one with the meter and the other two up and down.

The idea is to get at least 3 images, one with the meter and the other two - one on each side of the meter reading.

This is right, plus most cameras can do it automatically. Check your manual for particular settings.
