memcord card 4g how many pictures can you put on a memory card 4g? this has been puzzle me all night long in my sleep

Depends on the camera (MG size) and the capture type (and quality of jpeg). My 12 megapixel camera will get about 700 high quality jpegs. If I set for lower quality, many more. If I switch to RAW, MUCH fewer.
Your user manual usually has a chart.

im thinking about useing a 4g on my nikon d3100 that im going to get but first i wanted to make sure that i could use a 4g on my new camera that im geting in january 28

It is very dependant on what you have your camera set to. Raw files are large so you would get the least number of images, if you are set to jpeg then you have different settings to use like fine or medium, it will definately depend on which camera you end up buying, ask in the shop as well, they should be able to advise you.

ok i will ask bestbuy which one to get with it so i can take a lot of pictures gigggles you know i will take a lot of pictures in spokane.

on my D90 I get around 275 in JPEG with a 2gb card so about double that with a 4gb card

No sweat. It can handle larger than that. Some people prefer to buy several 4GB cards than a larger one to have a bit of "insurance: against a rare card failure.

As I told you, Penny, a 4Gb card is plenty enough. I get over 1000 on my D70 and the D200 says it will take 112 on the 1Gb. That means you will get about 425 on the 4Gb.
