Canon PowerShot S95 question

13 years 3 months ago #19460 by blue_woman
I just upgraded to the S95. I'm a fairly novice user and am only familiar with the Point and Shoot digital cameras. Inoticed that between the S90 (the one I learned on) and the S95 that Canon seems to have dropped the "INSIDE MDOE" from the scene options. Am I missing something? What should I choose now for standard inside pictures in my house with the lamps on, etc.?

I'm guessing that the low light ability is better and that the auto handles it just as well. Couldn't find any specifics, but that would make sense to me.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

Put the camera on Auto and see how the pictures come out, is my only guess.

I've used the S95 and it looks like they repleaced it with a low light mode. The other modes are awesome and the sharpness is great. Stick with the camera.

In low light mode, the camera boosts ISO and cust resolution . I'd stay away from that if you can. For indoor shooting try the widest aperature (f/2 at 28mm). If that's not enough, increase the ISO but try to stay under 400. Over 400 and your noise increases. A flash might help, although I personally don't like using them.
