OK but how else do I explain that shot ? It's one of the few macro shots I've done that turned out well.

A couple things to do.

Catch a snowflake on a black board that is the same temp that it is outside. Then take a macro picture of it.

OR.

Get yourself a microscope and place a snowflake on the microscope and attach the camera to the eyepeice and shoot.

I'll have to try the blackboard. I'm not going to buy a microscope just to shoot a snowflake.
