Softbox Lighting Help

9 months 3 weeks ago #667869 by chgodon
I'm interested in 2 softboxes for some better lighting. Projects are videos for youtube and tik tok. I've noticed some brands in other user videos. Which is good brand for a beginner?

Andover, Neewer or Limostudio

Be interested in some pros & cons since I'm working with a fixed budget and using only has a hobby.

A softbox diminishes the light some. For for video of action an extra strong light would be needed, typically multiple CFLs. Most video folk now seem to be going with LED panels instead of the old softboxes.

Natural light with LED support — may need less power.

Light is free… capturing it is not!

A softbox diffuses the light into a pleasing soft, even light. When used properly, it reduces harsh shadows. The closer the softbox is to the model or subject, the softer the light appears, emulating window light.
