What does "N", "DG", "ED" on lenses mean?

I'm looking around at some lenses and curious what these letters mean on them?

Some of those are listed in the "Photography Terms" post stickied at the top of this forum. Others can be found explained at the lens manufacturer's website. Some are abbreviations used by many brands, others are just used by a particular brand.

N = Nano coating (reduces flare/ghosting)
DG = Sigma lenses designed for digital cameras (and can be used on fullframe/FX cameras or APS-C/Crop cameras) It's their version of a FX lens (or EF for Canon). They also make DC lenses which are only for APS-C cameras (similarly this type of lens is called "DX" with Nikon lenses and "EF-S" on Canon lenses).
ED = a type of glass that reduces CA (Chromatic Aberration)
