On my monitor, it could be lighter with some added contrast.  You are spot-on with the feeling of desolation.  But cranes are quite expensive and usually rented.  It is surprising that the building is seemingly abandoned but there is still a crane hanging around.

There are photographs everywhere. It is the call of photographers to see and capture those images.

Yeah it's strange but the last time i saw someone working was maybe 5/6 years ago so i think this poor crane got abandoned

I agree. The shading of black is a bit too thick. I can't see the range sharply.
