Canon 50D user friendly guides

Does anyone know where I might get a user's guide online for the 50D? PDF file maybe? Free even better? Just got one recently, and I'd like to know what I can do with it. The manual that came with it is pretty annoying and hard to read.

I got a "Digital Field Guide" when I got my 40D and found it quite useful, there's one for the 50D too on Amazon.com just under $14 and what’s nice is that Amazon let you browse a few pages so you can see if there could be anything useful inside. There are also some reviews / 50D books on there too. I don't know if this is the sort of thing you’re looking for?

Awesome, thanks - great place to start! When most of the manual is written in languages I neither speak nor read, it’s time to search out a new manual!

No worries. If you Google "canon 50d manual" there's a PDF download that should come out as a top result - but you probably have this as it’s the one that shipped with the camera. Good luck!

If you can be certain that your camera hasn't been stolen,..

I'd register it with Canon, Once registered, you can download their PDF on the camera,
The CIG (Canon Image Gateway) site has tons of resources to help you use your camera.

They have several associated sites that are very helpful.

Be sure to download their free software.
Zoombrowser,..
Digital Photo Professional (easier to use than Photoshop,) for contrast adjustment, and the common 'fixes' in basic post production, this is incredible)
and Photostitch.
There are others' but you get the idea.

The first item in this list is a downloadable manual in pdf format (prints 8 1/2 x 11 I believe), same as the little one that came with your camera.

or you can check this one out:
www.amazon.com/David-Buschs-Canon-Digita...graphy/dp/1598639048

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.
