Any regrets from moving to PC to Mac?

I'm thinking about moving to Mac and want to see if any one who made the move had any regrets or things they would have liked to known before making the move?

I've not moved, nor will I ever, due to the investment I already have in hw and sw.

However, I was visiting with a buddy last week who said he regretted not doing it sooner. He loves his Mac.

I made the transition and back. I started at pc and I found some of the smaller lesser known programs were available on pc. However on macs these programs we're not available so i moved back shortly afterwards. Depending on the brand of pc you will be able to customize it and upgrade it, macs are really a one time thing, their difficult to upgrade.

Macs are a PC.  Do you mean OSX > Windows 8.  Well that's debatable, but it's more a personal thing.  Both are good.  Stable too.

Best move, my Mac has lasted much longer than any PC I have owned.

I went over to Mac 6 years ago. I will never go back. Never had ANY problems in that time.
Every time I hear the word "virus" I know I made the right choice.

That's because you can't upgrade them yourself so you're forced to stick with them (I own Macs and PC, I still have my MacPro because... well it was expensive...)

I still use both, and will say my Mac is errorless compared to PC.

Nearly 25 years of doing PC support has taught me one thing: Use a Mac. I use my Mac for everything, including running Windows apps. Because I run Windows in a Virtual Machine, if it goes wrong or gets corrupt, etc. I just revert to previous snapshot. Never had a virus, never had a system crash. The up-front cost is more, but the money you save over the computer's lifespan more than compensates. The only niggle I have with my Mac is the fact that the Retina display has started to show some ghosting after a few years. This is disappointing, but the screen quality is still better than a standard monitor.

LOL people who say Macs never crash crack me up.

I'm not anti-mac or anything I like them fine, but the heavy level of mythology around them is hilarious.

Viruses are very rare on Macs... mainly because virus makers want maximum effectiveness. They're definitely not immune to malicious code.

I didn't say Macs never crash. I said that mine has never crashed. I'm currently on a Macbook Pro which I've had for about 3 years, and during that time I have never had one complete system failure. Sure I've had to force-quit the occasional app, but never once has my system done the equivalent of a blue screen. It speaks volumes about PCs that their users find it so hard to believe a computer can be crash free! ;)

I use both. I got plenty of grey screens on death with Macs (kernel panics). This is with a mac pro and mac book pro. Very few blue screen of death with windows 7 and 8 (if fact I can't remember ever getting one since moving from Windows vista).

And my comment wasn't directed at you in particular.

Your absolutely right.  But cause or affect! does it matter.  I converted to Mac and doubt that I would ever go back.
