Photo printer under $300

One more question for me if you don't mind.

I have a $300 budget and looking to get the best photo printer I can get.  Can I ask what you would buy with that budget?

A friend suggested going used.  Which there are so many printers of course to select from.  I'm hoping to get some start points from you.

Any sort of help would be appreciated.  Just to clarify, I'm open to used and new.   Speaking of used, my friend suggested I look on KEH.com or MPB.com.  Have you heard of either of these companies?

Both of those companies have good reputations but I’m not sure if they deal in printers. Canon has some very affordable printers. Avoid an all-in-one to get one specialized for photo printing. There are some newer ones that use ink tanks instead of cartridges that are more expensive but may save money long term if you use it a lot. I have a B100 and quality is impressive at the price. It handles up to 13x19 paper.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

Your primary concern is dye vs. pigment. (Almost) All inexpensive printers are going to be dye-based, so it really doesn't matter which one you select. And the printer is only your initial modest expense. The ink and paper is an ongoing cost, so plan accordingly.

Used might be okay; depends upon history. KEH and MPB are both reputable.

I see people are buying used cameras and lenses, but didn't see much on the printers.

You both have given me something to consider.  Thank you!
