New computer needed and looking for the best deal.

I'm really needing a new desktop PC. Mine died and I have a laptop that works just fine, but it won't cut it for what I need it for as a primary computer. I'm looking for something super fast with a ton of RAM.

So where are the deals please

Nikon Z6 | Nikon FM10 | Nikon D80 | Nikon 50mm f/1.8D | Nikon 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6 AF-S VR | 35-105mm f/3.5 Macro | 80-200mm f/4.5 | SB600 | Pocket Wizard II

What is you budget? That will be the limiting factor. Personally I havent bought factory built PC for more years I can remember. I home build and it is much easier than people think. Components are much inmproved for enduser friendliness, it is all Plug-n-Play, so all you do is put the parts in their slots and load the operating system. This way you get the computer you want and truthfully a much better system.

I just picked up a laptop from Costco that had a factory rebate. It's an HP with 6GB Ram and 500Gb HD, HDMI post and very light. $700 seemed like a good deal.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

I bought a Dell laptop last year within 3 months it had a 2 new keyboards, 2 new mouse pads, new hard drive, new motherboard, 2 new video cameras. Eventually changed it for another laptop I didn't really want, that started giving me problems so I sent it back and got a full refund. Now I have a small HP laptop with 5 or 6 gigs memory and I don't remember which nor do I remember the other stats, but it is running fine and I am keeping my fingers crossed. I wanted a small one for carrying in my camera bag when traveling.

If you are a photographer...even a photographer who shoots for fun. Asking for a computer that is super fast with a ton a ram is only a quarter of what you need.

I got my HP at Costco and it came with a 2-year warranty. Since I used my AmEx card, they added a third year. That pretty much covers the lifespan of a laptop.

Sometimes when Best Buy gets the very latest and greatest the previous models just 6 months old get a drastic cost reduction. I got a Gateway back up PC and monitor on sale this way.

The best deal is the one you afford for what you need.
