but a part of me is like a kid at Christmas. I want it now, and just can not wait a couple months for it, for other people's reviews. 
But yes, any price drop is a good clue. But, don't confuse that with scammer prices on the web (most everything Brooklyn based). Check prices at B&H, Adorama or Calumet.

Wait for what? If you are talking about price, what will you save on a $3.000.00 camera, a hundred bucks? Bugs in the new model? If you wait six months, you will likely get a model sitting on a shelf right now.
If there is something you want now, waiting might cost you more,(see D700) and you can't take a picture with a camera you don't have......
