What Photoshop standard actions are you using before uploading to site?

As a rule of thumb when you are uploading photos online are there any Photoshop functions other than re size'ing that you like to do? Like adjust contrast, levels, sharpness, etc.?

Depends on what I'm shooting. I will say sharpening an image or lightly adjusting the levels will be something I will do.

Canon 5D Mark II | Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM | Canon 35L | Sigma 85 1.4 | Helios 44M-6 58mm(M42) | Zeiss 50mm 1.4 (C/Y) | Canon 135L | (2) 430EX II

I shoot RAW and give every image (or group of images) the same treatment. However, it depends on what the group NEEDS. I don't have one standard set of tools for every group.

For example, some may need more contrast, others more saturation, and etc.

Matthew :)

The key to good editing is the ability to see in advance what the image requires. It will speed up your post work tremendously. I can edit hundreds, or even thousands of images, in a few minutes using RAW.

I shoot raw, and do most of my processing in Adobe Camera Raw. I have my standard starting settings saved as pre-sets. They are just slight variations of the factory set ACR defaults. I have 2 pre-sets for each camera I shoot: a regular and a very high ISO version. From camera to camera the difference in the settings is mainly sharpening. I find different resolutions need different settings. The high ISO version adds some noise reduction and backs off the sharpening a bit.

But after that I assess the photos one by one or in groups of similar lighting. I follow the expose to the right exposure strategy when I can, and sometimes I push my DSLRs in very low light. So I don't expect my raw file to come out of the camera always looking like the finished photograph. Exposure may need adjustment. White balance and contrast are almost always adjusted. There are a lot of different ways to adjust contrast in ACR, Lightroom, and Photoshop. I like curves the best, but will also use other methods. Other available tools are used as they suit the photo. I was a darkroom geek, and the adjustment brush in ACR is almost irresistible. I'm usually happy with the typical sharpness settings I always use, but I adjust when needed.

Nice insights to what others do.In Visible light I only shoot Wildlife and Flowers.Shooting Raw with exposure compensation in strong sunshine is a norm, open my images in Capture One which brings it close but for finishing I uses Nik plugin Viveza2,sharpen,noise remover is Define2 at default setting and finally Photoshop filter 'Exposure'.

HP, the high ISO setting makes sense. I usually add flash and rarely shoot over ISO 400. A hold over from my film days.

Hope you never have to edit a 1000 pics, robbie. whew.... ;)

FYI more contrast == Curves, more color = Saturation. Those are the two I use most.
