water mark position?

I know that most photographers they put the watermark logo on the bottom left\right of the photos. I was wondering, if the person want to be creative and change the place of watermark position whats the best place for that?

What size is recommended for the font size of the watermark?

I know a photographer who places their watermark wherever there is an open space. Open space, such as the background or foreground...anywhere the subject is not.

Somewhere on the border. Across the image in my opinion should never be done unless you're showing proofs to clients who may buy the image.

If you are trying to protect your image, finding a place that does not "disturb" the image but prevents someone from stealing and easily removing the image depends on the composition. You can create a larger watermark on increase the transparency so that the viewer is not struck by it but that removing it would be a lot of work.
Something like this. It has a small cr in the corner but a larger one across the image.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

I'd say the easiest thing to do I'd make your signature and then save it out as a brush.

This is what I generally do in gimp.

I'd do like John did (Baydream), it's subtle enough but is across the subject. I think if you put it in a corner or along an edge it would be easy enough for it to be cropped off. I suppose it could depend too on where you'd be putting your images.
