Outsource post processing for my wedding gigs

7 years 2 months ago #517278 by Chris Briggs
Hey guys, I want to stay out in the field more vs being stuck behind my computer trying to post process all my photos.  I've tried a couple of different people that found my via LinkedIn, but they have not worked out.

Can you suggest a company that is reliable, and will give me a single editor that will manage my clients photos?

Thanks!!

Be very careful, I have tried a couple different companies and they never get it right.  They are tough to communicate with and then they try to charge you more.

Not unless you want a crappy job. I tried one of those companies and they did such a basic job.  Waste of $$ if you ask me.

Not to mention they claimed to be from Canada and wouldn't jump on the phone.  Email only, and their english was horrible.  Seemed like they were from middle east somewhere.

I would if they could get my methods down right.

OMG, I get 3-4 of these people bugging me on LinkedIn each week.  Well they are the clipping path peeps.  If they did good work, that would be another thing.  But the work is so sub par.

Yes with guidelines that must be followed.  The biggest problem your going to find here is what has been mentioned already:  Quality.  Find a work around to that and it's a brilliant idea.

Smart way to stay competitive.  The challenge will be to get someone.  With "ONE" being the keyword of importance here.  Chances are, you'll get a team of different people working on your photos.  With a new guy, picking up your photos for that day, reading notes only.   I've been there and done that.

I would, if the initial test worked out well.

Are you able to still watermark your images even though someone else did the post processing?

Try working with someone you can meet with in person if possible. I think talking face to face is the best way of ensuring that you find a person that you can work with for the long term.

Heck yes!  I tried one of these services not to long ago and it was a disaster.  So if you find something that works, let me know.  PM me here.  Thank you.

Be patient and keep searching for an individual to help you with post processing rather than turning towards a company. I'd stay away from LinkedIn. Ask for recommendations from any of your local peers in the business if there is someone seeking out that sort of work. If not, you could post a job listing on a freelancing website. Just think about what qualities your ideal candidate would possess and clearly write it out. Ask for a few sample edits before hiring, that should really narrow things down and eliminate anyone that's not fit for the job.
