WIX website builder?

Has anyone ever used Wix before? What's it like? Is it user-friendly? Would it be ideal for showcasing a wide variety of photos? Right now I'm just using Flickr. I don't want to pay for a site because I have yet to make some money from my photography, but I do want more people to notice my work.

Hmm I guess no one uses Wix. I suppose that does answer my question though, if no one uses it, it may not be a good website builder.

I can certainly understand not wanting to spend money on a website if you're not making any money with photography (yet). But the old adage "you get what you pay for" really comes to mind here. If you want to showcase your work (and hopefully drive business and money your direction) you want to have a website that works for photographs.

I can't speak highly enough of Zenfolio.com for a fully functioning, ready-to-use photo hosting platform. And, you'd be hard-pressed to beat their price plans. Last month or so I started an account with them - the Basic plan - for $25/year. That's right - $25 a year! Depending on your needs you could spend more than that - up to a whopping $100/year for a Premium package.

Do yourself a favor and check out their site, take the tour, and decide. I'm in the web design world and I can tell you, it's hard to find hosting for that price, much less templates or custom layouts. If you'd like, check out my website too, or many of the other photographers here at PT who have their images on Zenfolio.

BTW - Zenfolio is a PT partner - another good reason to support them.

Nice job on the site, Dave.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.
