First time putting one of my little pics up...

Have been checking out images on this site for a while now, but haven't posted anything. I am a total beginner ( have only had my camera for about 3-4 months now), but thought I would start putting some stuff in here in the hope of learning new tips / tricks. ;)

have you tried resizing to under 2mb as is the requirement, then follow my instructions and you should be okay, if that doesnt work try changing to a different uploader such as google chrome or firefox.

I like the photo. I'm a big fan of food. I'm curious as to what the background image is. It is just out of focus enough to make me guess at what it might be. I'm wondering if you want that type of distraction. Changing the angle you shot the food at could eliminate the distraction or opening up the aperture even more to put the background even more out of focus would eliminate it.

Are there any left overs?

LOL Chasrich, yes food is good! This was taken at a county fair and the people are about to get on some sort of water ride. I kept the background there but out of focus to kinda capture that "summer" feel / scene but wanted the primary focus to be the barbecue. perhaps a little too out of focus if it's got you guys guessing...

Good stuff here Misty, keep on shooting! Love the food theme, BTW.

It is what it is.

Looks good, Misty. You might try a bit of fill flash (set your camera to flash regardless of the light). It will bring out the details of the food. Keep up the good work.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

Pleased to see you followed my advice, the photo is good but I agree with the others, that background needs to be totally out of focus so that we the consumer (if you will forgive the pun) can concentrate on the food.

thanks for all the input guys..really great to get your perspectives! never thought of using "fill flash" (just learned about this) but this would have been a great opportunity to practice. And hear ya loud and clear about having just the food in focus lol. nice to get feedback ;)
