Were you in charge of "Surprise"?

Reminds me of Norman Rockwell. More in style than subject.

Great lines and comp.

Excellent detail, I feel like I'm there. Sailing is fun, although I haven't sailed in years!

The Surprise is a wonderful experience. It is one of the few remaining "Friendship Sloops" remaining (they were built in the town of Friendship). The boat was originally built to haul firewood to Monhegan Island. It used to sail out of little Tenant's Harbor on go past Andrew Wyeth's home (yes, that lighthouse in his painting is in his front yard). I understand the great captain moved the sloop to Bar Harbor to get more "traffic".
I sailed twice on her, the second time taking my grand daughter on her first sail. As he was furling the sail, I was "steering" her into the harbor and the captain's advice was "Don't hit anything expensive".
I highly recommend this adventure.
Enough babbling.
You did a great job of capturing the beauty of the ship and the area.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

What a lovely adventure that is. The boat is quite the gem also. Great shot of her. :judge:

The Surprise was built in 1918. It was my first time sailing. I loved the peace and quiet.
