Playing with intentional over-exposure.

Influenced by Bryan Petersen, perhaps even blatantly ripping off the idea, I tried a shot that was intentionally blown out. I like the outcome. It's different to say the least.

It's different. I don't like it. That is just my opinion. Not saying the photo is crap or not, I just don't like it. Maybe if all we saw were the heads, it could work better. Some areas I can see the bodys, which I think ruins the photo. (although that one body, looks like a cat's head) :)

No worries.... I didn't think many would care for it. I wanted to try something that's a little 'off the grid'... and I did just that! :)

I can now say, "been there, done that", and move on. I'm going through a practice phaze at the moment. I'm reading lots of photography books and trying to emulate what they show in the books. What's funny is that when I see some of these photos in the books, my reaction is the same as yours. I may not care for it, but it was intentional, and I did what I set out to do. :)

Thanks for your input!

Good experiment. I think it takes just the right photo and just the right amount of overexposure to accomplish this and make to look good (just like HDR  ).

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

@ John ... don't give up on the idea of high key.
It can be very effective in abstract photo'y.
I use it now & then and the results can be award winning!
Rather than "move on" .... move in

Thanks, Gary. Your choice of words is much better, and more accurate. I'd never NOT look back after trying something new. Looking back is the best way to move forward.
Thanks again!

Looking at is as a normal image I'd say it is a little too busy. It did capture my attention for a bit trying to figure out what I was looking at. The concept is there but smaller steps for a bit. I will try this myself thanks to you. :woohoo:
