2008 Subaru STI

Well, one of my friends asked me to shoot a few of his race car. The car is a time attack and 1/4 race car. It makes just over 600hp on E85. I still have a boat load more to edit lol.

Nice !!! I've got some shots from a "Challenge" meet for Subaru owners a few years back @ Texas Motor Speedway....The local dealers had some of their entries tricked out.

I'm so confused. The little bit of racing I did was SCCA (yes, at PIR). What is "Time attack"? What is "1/4 race"?

I'm with you, Kelly. I used to crew for a G prod Spitfire, Formula Ford and Formula 2000 and work Timing and Scoring for events SCCA (at Summit Point, WV). I need the lingo lesson also. :P

Cool shots.
Oh my, how the classes have changed since I worked SCCA. I think Paul Newman was running A Production (280Z) when I was working crew. Is that second one B Street Production? I need to go look at the SCCA site for a refresher.

Great shots Scott!
Kelly, I meant 1/4 mile drag racing lol. I forgot the mile part. The car runs 11.2 in the quarter mile at speedworld and firebird. Time attack is a lot like Indy car racing, just with non Indy cars lol. There can be like 20 other cars ranging from race built corvettes or vipers all the way to 300 horse power Honda civics. They race in groups, depending on power produced. You can look up global time attack on the web or YouTube to see what its all about. Auto cross still happens at firebird as well.

Looks like the same as SCCA "modified" (from way, way back), but without any spectators. Everybody seems to be sponsored, something I was never able to manage. Seems strange that they could all get sponsors with no spectators????

Thanks everyone for the commented. Kelly, you can watch the race from the main straight a way at Firebird race track. These are huge races that require teams or non sponsored cars to travel across the country. It's a point season race. I'll throw a video of this car on the track up here in a few.
