And I'm back, so far it's been a naff start to the year with numerous illnesses which isn't like me and a recent promotion at work has kept me working 7x24 so not much time to get out and play!

I recently found a local forum who meet in a pub 5 mins from the office and thought I would pop across to see what it was like, this week we played with some wire wool and light painting which I have never tried bfore which is alwasy good but as usual some feedback would be appreciated...

Anywhere dark without ambient light will do and it couldn't be easier :)

The Wool is easy as you just someone too spin it, we're going to some dark underpasses next week which should liven the shots up a tad :)

The light painting is even easier, the domes were bike wheels with some led's on and the red glow was a childrens toy :) I never knew how easy it was :)

There is an odl graveyard accross from the pub so we set up in there for the night lol :)

The second one's an interesting composition; the third one looks like Slinkys gone wild! You can do light painting without something aflame but I don't know a lot about it and it has a different look to it.

I took a sports photography workshop a few years ago with Dave Black (and another well known sports photographer) - www.daveblackphotography.com/creative-lighting-portfolio - the workshop was outstanding although it didn't include the creative lighting; the link is his portfolio related to his lighting techniques.

You will not be judged as a photographer by the pictures you take, but by the pictures you show.

Cool shots! I saw a video on the wool project. It was very cool & looked easy. That dude "lit" the wool with a 9 volt battery. Glad you are feeling better. Congrats on the promotion.

Glad you are on the mend and getting deserved recognition at work.

The shots are cool. Our camera club is holding a light painting workshop this Sunday. Time to get creative. We will be using a studio at the local public broadcasting TV station to get dark area in mid-day.
I'm looking for good stuff to experiment with. So far I have some different lights (flashing orange light and a multi-color flashing light). It should be a blast.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

Doesn't have to be flashing if dark all the lights we used were solid :)
