I am part of an Engineering Design and Development class and I'm thinking of designing a device that would allow vertical adjustment of pictures that are already hanging on the wall. Could you please tell me what issues you have when you're hanging a painting or picture? Also, how much would you pay for something that allows you to adjust the vertical height of the picture with the picture frame already hanging? I’ve heard this is an issue for many people and i would like to get your input. Also, are you aware of anything that resembles a vertical adjustment on hanging pictures?

Any help you could give me would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Interesting concept, Chris. It is true that the length of the wire or using different types of hangers does cause photos to hang at different heights. If I have a series of photos that need to be aligned at the top, I use a laser level to set the hangers and make sure all the wires are the same distance from the top of the frame.
A device that would let you adjust the height of photos would be pretty cool.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

That would be cool, I usually measure down from the ceiling at each end of the wall and draw a light line but trying to get each wire the same length is a challange.

You will not be judged as a photographer by the pictures you take, but by the pictures you show.

Are there any other problems that you're aware of? Anything and everything you have to say would be greatly appreciated. Right now in justifying, convincing my teacher that this needs to be built. Any details at all. I can't share pictures because of security but I can describe it o you if you need.
